ORFG Responds to NASA Public Access RFI
The Open Research Funders Group (ORFG) is pleased to submit a response to NASA’s request for information on the Public Access Plan for Increasing Access to the Results of NASA-Supported Research. In our formal feedback, the ORFG encourages NASA to promote a robust repository ecosystem, author rights retention strategies, liberal reuse rights, the propagation of open persistent identifiers and metadata standards, and the elevation of software as a first class research output. We believe these elements are critical to enabling research transparency, reproducibility, and equity.
We appreciate the opportunity to comment on NASA’s draft plan, and we look forward to providing feedback to additional agencies as they roll out their responses to the Nelson memo.
