Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Joins ORFG

The Open Research Funders Group (ORFG) is excited to welcome its newest member, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative was founded in 2015 to help solve some of society’s toughest challenges — from eradicating disease and improving education, to addressing the needs of our local communities. CZI’s dedicated Open Science program works toward universal and immediate open sharing of all scientific knowledge and outputs, empowering more people to engage in research practices that accelerate the pace, robustness, and reproducibility of science through partnerships, policies, and grants. CZI also supports a number of open source software projects and open infrastructure.

“Helping scientists build on each others’ work can dramatically accelerate the pace of discovery, and in turn, our understanding of health and disease. We are grateful to partner with ORFG to work alongside other funders and collaborators in this space who are equally as committed to advancing open research outputs and advancing the field together,” said Carly Strasser, CZI Open Science Program Manager.
